Welcome to the Speech & Language Centre. We are a team of qualified speech and language therapists and our new clinic is based in Mohill, Co Leitrim.
We provide high-quality private speech and language therapy to children in a friendly, homely environment. We are proud to offer best practice services for the assessment and treatment of childhood speech, language, and communication needs. Adult voice and swallowing issues are also available on request.
We understand the importance of early identification and prompt intervention and therefore aim to offer your first appointment rapidly, ensuring a swift start to your child’s speech and language progression. Joanna Elomari
BA (Hons) Psych; MSc Speech and Language Therapy (Hons).
Joanna Elomari qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist from the University of Limerick Masters Programme in June 2012. Prior to this Joanna obtained a BA (Hons) Degree in Psychology. She is registered with CORU and the Independent Speech and Language Therapists of Ireland (ISTI).Joanna has worked with children with Autism in a variety of settings since 2007. She has attended numerous workshops including: the Derbyshire Language Scheme Training; Kids Express Train; Lamh; Getting Kids in Sync. Joanna has also carried out research, developing a home programme for children with phonological delay and consistent phonological disorder. Joanna is a member of the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists (IASLT), the Independent Speech and Language Therapists of Ireland (ISTI) and a registered SLT with CORU.
Anne-Marie Johnston
BSc Nursing, BSc Clin Lang.
Anne-Marie is a fully qualified Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) who is registered with CORU and the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists (IASLT). She graduated as a mature student from Trinity College Dublin with a BSc (Hons) in Clinical Speech and Language Therapy. Anne-Marie also has a BSc (Hons) in Nursing from Queens University Belfast and has vast experience working in the acute hospital setting. Anne-Marie has experience across a variety of clinical populations and disorders, including management of adults with acquired speech, language, voice and swallowing disorders as a result of CVA and acquired progressive neurological disorders, for example clients with aphasia, dysarthria, AOS, voice disorders and dysphagia. Anne-Marie is fully dysphagia qualified to independently assess and manage patients with oro-pharyngeal dysphagia; making recommendations in relation to appropriate postural, compensatory and rehabilitative strategies, diet and fluid modification and safe feeding guidelines. Anne-Marie is a member of the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists (IASLT) and a registered SLT with CORU.
